Vattenfall Nuclear Fuel is part of Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions. BU Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of about 700 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that trains personnel in Swedish nuclear power, delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, group staff and stakeholders. This involves activities such as developing and providing training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dam safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work on continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

About the Role

We are tackling one of the most important challenges of our time. Do you want to be a part of it?

We are now looking for a manager for the Safety Analysis Plant unit belonging to the Nuclear Fuel department at Vattenfall Power Solutions, who wants to drive the development of both the unit and its operations. You will lead a team of nine employees working in Solna, Uppsala, and Gothenburg. Together, you will contribute to Vattenfall Power Solutions' important mission to deliver specialist support in safety analysis for nuclear power, which is a critical and regulated environment.

As Unit Manager, you are responsible for the unit's deliveries, development of the business area, and meeting the competence needs of our stakeholders. The stakeholders are the nuclear power plants Ringhals and Forsmark, as well as the Nuclear New Build Support department within Vattenfall Power Solutions, which in turn supports Videberg Kraft AB. You lead, engage, and inspire your employees and create conditions for them to achieve set goals. The health and well-being of our employees are important to us, and a good working environment is fundamental to everything we do.

The unit's employees provide expert support in the areas of safety analysis and thermal hydraulics together with other teams within the Nuclear Fuel department, Business Unit Vattenfall Power Solutions, and Vattenfall Business Area Generation. The work includes analyses and investigations using thermal hydraulic calculation programs within deterministic safety analysis and thermal hydraulics, primarily related to the safety reporting of nuclear power plants. Other typical assignments include review work (e.g., safety reviews or reviews of supplier analyses), client support, and technical coordination within the competence area.

As Unit Manager, you will be part of the management team for the Nuclear Fuel department and report to the department head. You will collaborate closely with other managerial colleagues within Vattenfall Power Solutions, Ringhals, and Forsmark.

In the role of unit manager, you will, among other things:

  • Drive business development and actively contribute to the work of developing the department's strategy.
  • Lead the strategic and long-term work on competence and method development.
  • Be responsible for salary setting.

We know that our employees are the key to our success. For us, your development is important, and therefore we will always encourage you to use your skills and provide you with opportunities to develop through new challenges, training, and knowledge transfer. With us, you will have the trust to act with great freedom and personal responsibility, which, together with good working conditions and mutual trust, provides high flexibility and balance between work and private life.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Documented experience as a leader or manager.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English.
  • A valid driver's license (B).

Experience in one or more of the competence areas within safety analysis is an advantage.

You as a Person

We are looking for someone who wants to lead and develop both people and operations. You drive your work forward with clarity and commitment and create results by collaborating and helping others grow.

As a leader, you are attentive and persistent, and you motivate by being present and providing direction. You have a strong interest in developing the business and contribute a business-oriented perspective in your daily work.

The role offers great opportunities to influence. Therefore, it is important that you can build trusting relationships with our stakeholders and create an open and inclusive collaboration. You communicate clearly and inclusively and have a strong focus on work environment, safety, and quality in our deliveries.

It is also important to us that your personal values align with our culture, which is characterized by our principles of being active, open, positive, and safe.
